Videostroboscopy is a procedure used to examine the throat with a tiny video camera. A video recording is made to enhance the accuracy of the exam. The procedure assists in the diagnosis of voice and swallowing disorders. Videostroboscopy permits visualization of the vibratory pattern of the vocal folds normally not visible to the human eye because they vibrate so rapidly. It is also used in the evaluation and treatment of throat or voice problems and to monitor progress and detect change for throat cancer patients.
